Every dog we place carries one man's standards. Peter began his career in the army in 1998; from 1999 he spent nine years with the K9 unit of Slovakia's Leopoldov high-security prison, training and breeding service dogs, earning a senior qualification in narcotics detection, and judging national prison-service K9 trials. He then spent four years as a private trainer, handler, and decoy for police and sport dogs – the decoy is the man in the padded suit every dog must face. He went on to lead K9 training at International Asset Protection before founding Slovak Protection Dogs in 2014.
That history shapes everything here: dogs chosen for stable nerves, training tested against real behavior rather than a rehearsed routine, and matching done honestly – because Peter has seen what happens when the wrong dog lands in the wrong home.

Guard dog, protection dog, K9 dog – the terms get used interchangeably, but the difference matters when your children are part of the picture.
